Golf Day 2010
Golfer’s Raise £2,000 for The Children’s Foundation
Kind-hearted golfers have helped raise over £2,000 for The Children’s Foundation, at our ninth annual golf day, at Hexham Golf Club.
The event, which was sponsered by Tesco’s Hexham store, took place last Friday and crowned Durham based TIN Arts as this year’s winners.
Martin Wilson, Captain of TIN Arts said:
“We are delighted to be invovled in The Children’s Foundation’s golf day again and are thrilled to have actually won this year. We all had a throughly enjoyable day and look forward to continuing to support the charity, and all their good work with children across the region.”
Over £2,000 raised through team entry fees, hole sponsorship and a raffle, will go towards our Happy, Healthy, Safe appeal. The appeal, launched earlier this year, raises money to fund projects addressing three priority areas; mental health, disability and child safety.
Doug Wilson, Corporate Affairs Manager for Tesco said:
“Tesco was delighted to sponser this year’s annual Golf Day. The event has consistently proved a hugh success and the money raised makes a real difference to the health and wellbeing of children and young people in the North East. The Golf Day provides the opportunity to support a hugely deserving charity, whilst being a fun and rewarding day for all involved.”
Libby Nolan, our Fundraising Manager said:
“We come back to hexham Golf Club year after year as it is such as beautiful setting and is popular choice with our golfers. And to have support from Tesco Hexham this year was fantastic, as it means that every single penny raised on the day will now go towards our Happy, Healthy, Safe appeal, benefiting children right here in the North East.”
