Regional Small Grants

The Regional Small Grants is currently under review; therefore no meetings are scheduled in at present. 

The Children’s Foundation Regional Small Grants programme supports community projects that benefit children and young people across the whole of the North East. Grants awarded are up to a maximum of £1,000.

Since the Regional Grants panel was established, over £238,000 has been awarded to community projects that benefit children and young people across the whole region from Berwick to Teesside, in line with the aims of the organisation.

Recent award winners have included:

Shine, NORTH EAST, were awarded £800 to enable children to attend sessions based around healthy eating, fitness and self-esteem raising.

Blue Watch Youth Centre, SUNDERLAND, was granted £740 towards a new health awareness club, supporting an exercise programme and healthy eating aspects of their health club.

Herrington Burn YMCA, HOUGHTON LE SPRING, was awarded £800 to provide an area for sensory experiences for disabled young people.

Cerebral Palsy Sport, NORTH EAST, were granted £600 towards a Junior Development Project for children with physical disabilities, giving children the chance to experience all the life enhancing skills that participation in sport can offer.

Newcastle Toy Library, NEWCASTLE, were given £800 to purchase toys activated by switches and sensory equipment for children with special needs, a worthwhile project offering children specific opportunities for play and development.
