The Clown Doctors is an innovative programme offering hospitalised children opportunities to take part in artistic play.  It aims to relieve them of fear and insecurities and to empower the children to understand and come to terms with their situation at a traumatic time in their lives.

The Clown Doctors work with children aged 6 months to 16 years and within a wide range of medical departments wherever there are young people. Activities are age-specific and ability-specific so each child has their own unique experience with the Clown Doctors.

Run Geordie Run is raising money for The Children’s Foundation to ensure the Clown Doctors reach as many children as possible in the Great North Children’s Hospital.

After tackling the UK and the USA, ultra distance runner, Mark Allison has taken Australia head on and is running 2600miles in 70 days. All funds raised for the run across Australia will be split between The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and The Children’s Foundation who raise funds for children in the North East.

Mark writes daily for his blog, he can be messaged through his twitter account @rungeordierun and he can be sponsored on his Virginmoneygiving page.
