Great North Run 2016 raises over £20,000
Last Sunday the 11th of September the Great North Run 2016 took place, the popular half marathon where 57 thousand people participated. This year, Team TCF with over 80 runners, 24 of them part of the “Run Geordie Run” team, faced this amazing challenge and fundraised more than £20,000 for The Children’s Foundation.
With an incredible sunny weather, our runners completed the 13.1 miles from Newcastle to South Shields, and arrived to The Children’s Foundation marquee where the team and volunteers welcomed them to the tent full of beverages and treats donated by local businesses. Also, our tired and exhausted runners were able to enjoy sports massages in our tent by the Sunderland College students.
From the office, we would like to say thank you and congratulations to everyone who participated and chose The Children’s Foundation as a charity to raise money for. This will incredibly help us fund and support projects in order to improve the health and wellbeing of thousands of children within the North East.
If you have any questions, or you would like to take part of the Great North Run 2017 again, or for the first time, all you need to do is email me Lara.Puertas@nuth.nhs.uk and once I can start offering places I will get in touch with you.
Again, a massive thank you to everyone who was involved in the Great North Run and the following brands that provided us with the products our runners enjoyed:
