Our Annual Ten Pin Bowling event took place on Thursday 21st March at Namco Funscape in the Metro Centre.
Thursday 21st March saw the return of The Children’s Foundation’s Big Bowl, held in Namco Funscape. The night saw 7 teams from local businesses competing to win and take home the Wooden Spoon Award for being great competitors and sports.
The Blind Bowl Competition challenged team members. One member of each team was nominated by colleagues and wore the blindfold, sending one bowl down their lane. Until the last competitor we had a tie and were staring down a ‘Bowl Off’. Step forward Ross from SOS IT. Cool and confident, he hit a strike and sent the skittles scattering. Amazed colleagues suggested he keep the blindfold on. Those who scored strikes were encouraged to celebrate by wearing the Turkey Hat, and we have the pictures to prove it! There was a lot of good natured rivalry, and some amazing scores. Fran from Brewin Dolphin was the highest scoring female and Richard from Royal IHC the highest scoring male. Royal IHC won a very competitive evening, taking home Golden Pins.
All of the prizes in the raffle were donations, including the white chocolate lamb.
We raised almost £850, which is amazing!
A huge thanks to everyone who came along, thank you for being such great sports and to Namco for supporting us and looking after us so well. A big thank you to those who donated the prizes in the raffle.
Keep an eye out for a ‘Save the Date’ for next year… and get your names down to help us do even better in 2020.
