Introducing our new placement student Georgia Nixon!
I am a Business and Marketing Student at The University of Sunderland and just completed my second year of university. I was determined to secure myself a placement year so that I could gain experience and so that I am more prepared for the world of work for when I’ve completed my degree! For some time now I have been passionate about volunteering for charities and I continued this alongside studying in my second year at university, I was able to use my skills I learnt from my university degree and apply it to the marketing, planning, organising and participating in numerous different charity events. It was then that I realised how much I enjoyed this area of work and just how rewarding it is. Therefore when I came across The Children’s Foundation placement I jumped at the chance to apply and was delighted when I discovered I’d successfully secured the placement year.
I am very excited to work for The Children’s Foundation as it’s such an amazing charity and can’t wait to expand my skills and knowledge as well as help make a difference. There are some really exciting events and tasks that I have been assigned to manage and work on which I am eager to get started! I’m excited to be part of The Children’s Foundation team and to be able to be able to share and contribute my ideas as well as learning from my experienced work colleagues.
