The Children's Foundation Stars Awards 2009

Twelve inspirational children from across the region attended a very special Awards Ceremony at Durham County Cricket Club on the 25th June 2009 to receive a 'Stars' Award from the regions leading child health charity The Children's Foundation.

The Stars Awards now in its third year, is administered  by The Children's Foundation and sponosred by Land Securities. Every child nominated received a medal and certificate presented to them by Paralympics athlete, Sprinter Hazel Simpson.

We would like to say a special thank you to local company  Planet Sports & Trophies who donated the medals and the Northern Echo, MDA PR & Design and The County Durham Cricket Club who supported the scheme.

The award categories are: child/young person; friend or sibling; parent/carer. The nominated individuals can live anywhere in the North East.
