Regional Small Grants

The Children's Foundation Regional Small Grants programme supports community projects that benefit children and young people in the North East area in line with our aims and objectives. Grants awarded are up to a maximum of £1,000.

Recent award winners have included:

Pelaw View Community Group based in Durham have been awarded £835 which will be used to develop initial sessions to work with children and young people to focus upon healthy eating and begin to change their attitude to healthy eating and appreciate the impact a healthy lifestyle can have.

Newcastle Sports for Youth Academy based in Newcastle upon Tyne, have been granted £1,000 which will pay for a qualified part-time youth worker who will support and supervise young peoples play and recreational  activities on a Friday evening.

Useful Vision who are based in Northumberland have been awarded  £1,000, which will go towards enabling a story telling/christmas event at Bedes World for North East Visually Impaired Children.  

Since the Regional Grants panel was established, over £200,000 has been awarded to voluntary sector projects that support children with disabilities and their families in line with the aims of the organisation.

The Regional Small Grants panel meet three times a year:

March/July/ November 

The next Regional Small Grants panel meeting has been postponed and will now be taking place in August 2010.
