We’re bowled over!

Our bowling event at Namco Funscape, intu Metro Centre on Thursday 9 March was a great success!

Ten local companies took part – all doing their bit to support delivery of much-needed services for children and young people in this region. The company teams were from Sanderson Weatherall, Handelsbanken Newcastle, Sintons, Brewin Dolphin, SOS, Leathers LLP, Ward Hadaway, Tait Walker, Clarke Mairs and Ryecroft Glenton.

And the winning team was… Tait Walker, winning it for the third consecutive year! Congratulations, guys!

David Richardson, Not For Profit Management Team, Tait Walker, was pleased to help:

“It was a pleasure for representatives from Tait Walker to attend and support such a well-run event. Although we are delighted to win the event, the fundamental aim was to support The Children’s Foundation in raising vital funds for their work in the North East. Having supported this event for a number of years now, we’ve been able to see the invaluable work the charity performs and we continue to wish them every success in their endeavours in the coming year.”

Andrew Skelton, Director of SOS Group, added:

“The SOS Group team had another excellent night at the charity bowling evening and after three years of attending it just gets better each year. It’s great to see such a fantastic amount raised and to gain an understanding of the important work of the charity, and how it impacts on the children and young people across the region. Sadly we also understand that there’s still a lot to do and funds needed to purchase and install more V-pods (pain distraction units), fund more Clown Doctors programmes, and support the charity’s work in tackling mental health issues. The SOS Group is committed to continuing its support in as many ways as possible and we’re happy to be involved with The Foundation for as long as we can.”

Jonathan Clegg, our Community & Events Fundraiser said: “Another great night! We not only had a good laugh, we raised £1,290 – a brilliant result all round. Our thanks, as always, to all the teams who made it such fun; and to Namco Funscape and intu Metro Centre for their support.”

We look forward to seeing these amazing teams again in our Bowling Event next year!
