The Children’s Foundation’s festive fundraising managed to raise over a record breaking £14,000!
Thanks to the generosity of people across the whole of the North East over £14,000 has been raised to help improve the health and wellbeing of children in the North East.
The main attraction was the Christmas Gift Wrap stand situated in intu Eldon Square where volunteers wrapped gifts in return for a donation from 11th December all the way until Christmas Eve. Charlie Hardwick, star of Emmerdale and Dick Whittington at the Theatre Royal, even stopped by to launch the service. Leathers LLP kindly made a donation in order for The Children’s Foundation to buy all equipment needed and extra wrapping paper was donated from shops around the centre. A fantastic £6166.33 was raised.
Schools from across the region entertained shoppers in The Bridges and intu Eldon Square. Carols old and new were sung and £4678.91 was raised.
Once again The Children’s Foundation’s mascot Courage was at the Theatre Royal Pantomime holding bucket collections with a team of volunteers… oh no he wasn’t… oh yes he was!! £1770.55 was raised thanks to all the families who attended the pantomime.
Money was also raised though our letters from Santa, Christmas Posters and donations. A huge thank you to everyone who has been involved in our Festive Fundraising 2015 and helped to make it the best one yet!
Here’s to 2016!
