Achievements since new strategy launched in 2006
- Supported 8 studies covering: obesity, disability, parenting, mental health & wellbeing, totaling £135,000
- Refurbished Darlington Memorial Hospital Outpatients department to create a play area for children
- Developed a set of computer games to improve co-ordination in children with cerebral palsy
- Provided pantomine performancs in hospital at Christmastime
- Established a partnership with TIN Arts to broaden their Clown Doctor programme, providing 1-1 fun therapy for children in hospital
- Co-ordinated an Emergency Care Bag scheme to provide essential toiletries for parents when their child has a life threatening condition
- Launched The Stars Awards to recognise children with a disability and their families
- Supported Daslne who offer information and resources to families with a child with autism
- Funded 44 community groups through our Regional Small Grants panel totaling £35,000+
- Delivered unintentional injury sessions to over 12,500 children through our Whoops Child Safety Project
- Directly helped, involved or affected the lives of over 80,000 children and young people across the North East
