Regional Small Grants
The Children’s Foundation Regional Small Grants programme supports community projects that benefit children and young people in the North East area in line with our aims and objectives. Grants awarded are up to a maximum of £1,000.
Recent award winners have included:
The Children’s Foundation’s July 2013 meeting of the Regional Small Grant Panel, awarded £880 to North Tyneside Disability Forum’s Young Peoples Project for the purchase of clay and kiln time for their sculpture classes on Thursday evenings. VIEW CASE STUDY
North East Autism Society in County Durham, were awarded £960. They would like to use funding from us to build up a pool of portable equipment that can be used in the community when visiting families or running sessions.
4U Youth Club in Newcastle upon Tyne, were granted £500. Our grant would allow them to run and summer programme of educational, health and social activities for young deaf children and hearing children of deaf parents
Dare North East Community Interest Company in Sunderland, were awarded £840. The grant would allow them to deliver a porgramme of circus skills to help address the problems of low levels of physical activity and childhood obesity.
The Learning Library in County Durham, were awarded £946 which enabled them to purchase Two ‘Theraplay TMX’ Trikes for use by children with disabilities.
St Anthony Youth Education and Support in Walker Newcastle upon Tyne, were awarded a contribution of £300 towards resources which could be utilised in their Noodles and Doodles project.
Integrating Children in County Durham, were awarded £840 which would form a contribution towards a football training project for children and young people with learning difficulties.
Since the Regional Grants panel was established, over £233,000 has been awarded to community projects that benefit children and young people across the region in line with the aims of the organisation.

The next Regional Small Grants panel will be taking place in March. All applications for this grant round need to be submitted no later than the end of February.
