Regional Small Grants
The Children’s Foundation Regional Small Grants programme supports community projects that benefit children and young people in the North East area in line with our aims and objectives. Grants awarded are up to a maximum of £1,000.
Recent award winners have included:
Scene Enterprises CIC in Birtley, were awarded £800. The money would go towards transport costs to enable children to attend sessions based around healthy eating, fitness and self-esteem raising.
SHINE in the North East were awarded £800. The money would go towards supporting children and families with a programme of events to include a health workshop and continence management for children with spina bifida.
WECAN in Tyne Green, were granted £500. The grant will go towards funding activities at a Saturday club and Easter play scheme.
Newcastle Toy Library were awarded £800. They would like to purchase toys activated by switches and sensory equipment for children with special needs.
Blue Watch Youth Centre were granted £740. The funding will contribute towards a new health awareness club.
The Children’s Foundation’s July 2013 meeting of the Regional Small Grant Panel, awarded £880 to North Tyneside Disability Forum’s Young Peoples Project for the purchase of clay and kiln time for their sculpture classes on Thursday evenings. VIEW CASE STUDY
Since the Regional Grants panel was established, over £238,000 has been awarded to community projects that benefit children and young people across the region in line with the aims of the organisation.

The next Regional Small Grants panel will be taking place in March. All applications for this grant round need to be submitted no later than the end of February.
