Regional Small Grants

The Children’s Foundation Regional Small Grants programme supports community projects that benefit children and young people in the North East area in line with our aims and objectives. Grants awarded are up to a maximum of £1,000.

Recent award winners have included:

Erbs Palsy Group based in Durham were awarded £1,000 which will pay for various workshops and activities for their family fun day in October, to ensure sufferers of  ‘Erbs Palsy’ are encouraged to maximise the use of their paralysed limb.

North Fawdon Primary School in Newcastle upon Tyne were awarded £1,000 to purchase Sensory equipment.

Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation were awarded £986 which will go towards a 12-week football and life-coaching programme for young people who are suffering with mental health problems.

Since the Regional Grants panel was established, over £200,000 has been awarded to voluntary sector projects that support children with disabilities and their families in line with the aims of the organisation.

The Regional Small Grants panel meet three times a year:

March/July/ November

The next Regional Small Grants panel will be taking place in November.

This will be a special grant round as we have  £10,000 available to spend, with a particular focus on Exercise and Obesity which is one of our key areas. Mark Allison aka Run Geordie Run will be sitting on the judging panel where he will help distribute funds to worthwhile non-proift community projects in the North East.
